The Cleveland Soil and Water Conservation District works with farmers to prevent erosion and run-off and to improve soil health and water quality. To achieve this goal, we provide advice, technical assistance, and financial assistance through cost-share programs. The District also focuses on conservation-based educational outreach. We conduct various hands-on outreach programs through local schools, events, and civic groups.
The Cleveland Soil and Water Conservation District board of supervisors meets every second Thursday of the month. Meetings begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. and are held at the USDA Service Center of Shelby, located at 844 Wallace Grove Drive Shelby, NC 28150. Meetings are open to the public.
