Community Engagement
The Cleveland County Library System partners with many organizations in the City of Shelby and Cleveland County to provide enrichment programming, early literacy programming to daycare centers, STEM and STEAM programming to afterschool centers, Summer Reading/Learning programming, and works with Cleveland County Community College to offer entrepreneurship programming.The focus of the Cleveland County Library System's efforts for community engagement are on building Community Centered Libraries that strive to work with the residents of the City of Shelby and Cleveland County in the development of programs, policies, and outreach services, that are a benefit to everyone in the community.
The Outreach and Community Engagement Manager, the Adult Services outreach staff, Youth Services outreach staff , and, the Adult Services Manager, create awareness of library programs and services to our community outside of our library branches.
