NC Cooperative Extension
Each day, NC Cooperative Extension provides people with access to the research-based information resources of our land grant University system, and helps them use that knowledge to solve everyday problems. We make North Carolina better through programs and partnerships focused on enhancing agriculture, strengthening and sustaining families, developing responsible youth, and building quality communities.
If you have a question or a problem, chances are we can help! The Cleveland County Extension Center staff focus their work on issues and needs that are important right here in the local community. We provide hands-on learning opportunities and technical assistance focused on:

- Growing the agricultural economy
- Enhancing community access to fresh local food
- Beautifying lawns and landscapes
- Growing and preserving food at home
- Improving diet, health and wellness

Foothills farmers' market
Foothills Farmers' Market is home to 75+ vendors bringing you the freshest food in Cleveland County. Our products travel an average of 12 miles to reach the Shelby City Pavilion where they are sold to our customers, and we pride ourselves that everything is raised or grown within 50 miles of Cleveland County.
Boiling Springs Community Library
The Boiling Springs Community library is a small, comfortable library consisting of approximately 30,000 volumes. The Library is housed in the Ruby C Hunt YMCA at 1322 Patrick Ave in Boiling Springs. The Post COVID operational hours are Monday through Thursday 10am to 6pm.
A membership in the “Y” is encouraged but not required to use the library. The Library is cosponsored by the Ruby C Hunt YMCA, the Town of Boiling Springs, and Cleveland County. Operational guidance is provided by the Cleveland County Library System.
The main sections are (1)adult fiction, (2) large selection of children’s stories and (3) biographies. Additional sections are (1) fiction, (2) NC emphasis, and (3) large print volumes.
In addition, to our book collection we offer free Internet access and computer usage, weekly Preschool Storytimes, private study rooms, and the library space is available for meetings and events. We also offer many different specialty classes throughout the year.
The Community Library also sponsors a Story Walk at the Boiling Springs town park. This park is located behind the former Boiling Springs Elementary School in town. Come stroll the park walking path while reading a seasonal appropriate children’s story.
