Cleveland County Planning and Land development

The Cleveland County Planning Department is responsible for land planning services, development services, historic preservation, and operation of the County’s geographical information services (GIS) to help guide the orderly development of Cleveland County.  Activities include permitting for residential, commercial, and industrial uses, maintenance of the County’s zoning map and to coordinate present and future land use activities with federal, state, and local agencies as well as community stakeholders.  The Planning Department also manages several commissioner-appointed Boards to help better serve the County.

Rezoning for Kings Mountain ETJ Relinquished Area

Due to the City of Kings Mountain Relinquishing areas of their Extra Territorial Jurisdiction, Zoning Districts and the Land Use Plan will be updated accordingly.
