Funeral Home Information

Cleveland County Register of Deeds
Office Policy for Funeral Homes

According to General Statute 130A-93 (c1), the Register of Deeds office is authorized to provide certified copies of a death certificate to a funeral director or funeral service licensee upon request.  Unfortunately we are not authorized to provide copies at the request of other funeral home personnel, although authorized personnel may pick up the requested certificates from our office with a request signed by a director or licensee.

We are requesting that all requests for death certificates be signed by a funeral director or funeral service licensee in the future.  Stamped signatures will be accepted.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
