The Honorable Betsy S. Harnage is the Cleveland County Register of Deeds, a position to which she was elected in 2016. Harnage earned a B.S. degree in 1983 from the University of South Florida. She married her husband, Tony Harnage, in 1986 and they have two children. Harnage moved to Shelby in 1987 with her husband to purchase Badcock Home Furniture & More.
Harnage is actively involved in the community. She is a Founding Board Member of Pinnacle Classical Academy. Harnage currently serves as Treasurer for NC Register of Deeds District II and is the Vice-Chair of the Certification Committee as well as serving on the Education Committee. Harnage is currently on the Advisory Board for Foothills Public Shooting Complex of Cleveland County.
Harnage has previously served on the Pinnacle Classical Academy board of advisors, she is a past Chair of the PCA Education Foundation, board member The Cleveland County Commission for Women, a Girl Scout leader, a Civitan Board Member (Sergeant at Arms), and a YMCA and Shelby City Park baseball coach. Harnage is proud to call Cleveland County home.
