The Cleveland County Tax Office is scheduled to mail more than 54,000 property tax notices on July 24, 2022.
A discount of one-half percent is offered if taxes are paid in full by August 31, 2022.
Taxes will be due by September 1, 2022, and delinquent after January 5, 2023. Payment arrangements may be made prior to September 1, 2022. Delinquent taxes will be subject to a 2% interest penalty beginning January 6, 2023, and ¾ of 1% for each following month.
Notices will be mailed with a courtesy return envelope for taxpayers to use to return payments to the Cleveland County Tax Collector. Property owners may also choose to pay taxes online at www.clevelandcountytaxes.com . Online payments are subject to a transaction fee. Payments can also be made in person at the office, 311 E. Marion Street, 1st Floor, County Administration Building, Shelby, NC 28150. In-person, payments may be made using cash, check, or money order. Credit or debit cards are also accepted in the office and are subject to a transaction fee.
